Primroses?

So I have a nice cluster of primroses growing in my flowerbed. Decided to see what the handy Tortoise Table says about them and it has a do not feed label..
But when I read it, it states that it is uncertain what harmful property it may have.

Has anyone fed their tort primrose or have a bit better explanation on what makes it harmful?

More curiosity than anything. Unless I'm pretty confident that something is safe, I won't feed it. But it is always good to learn about what is growing around us.[emoji3]
