i saw this website on someone else's thread when they were talking about the crying tortoise book. i thought their info on outside temps under their housing page was interesting. certainly different than what i'd heard about having to keep sulcata at very warm temperatures at night.

i also see at his page on juveniles that he says we should NOT soak them. thoughts?

He simply has a different approach, it is a great site with great info but Tom has provided some great research also and documented his results. Of course in the end the decision is yours.

Personally I do not do the daily soaks, they get a bath either weekly or when they need it. I do see them in and out of their bowls and I do mist them during the day and we have high humidity here so they are always in high humidity.

I know there are plenty of people that let temps drop with adults, personally I would keep mine warmer than that, I think of it as this, sure they can survive, I could to, but I don't want to sit out all night in 50 degree weather and I'm not cold blooded.
