I've posted before about my Russian tortoise Juca who was bullied and as a result has had several health and overall wellness issues. I've had her outside in her own balcony enclosure for about 2 weeks now. The lows have been in the 60s with highs in the 70s, though ground temps range from 70s to 115. She's eating very well, finally partaking in mixed greens in addition to the spring mix she was dead set on before. Her eyes are still an issue. I've soaked her in a carrot baby food solution a few times and also tried feeding avocado and butternut squash for the Vitamin A but her eyes are still a bit puffy and she's still fairly lethargic. She does have moments of activity outdoors which seems promising but she's not grazing like she was was when I first put her out there.
The last couple days I've noticed a periodic bubble in her nose. The first time it happened while I was soaking her so I thought maybe it was water but I just saw one while she was eating butternut squash a few minutes ago. Seems to happen when she's swallowing. Is this likely a respiratory infection or could it be something else? What should I do? Any thoughts?
Thanks!
Patrick
