I'm new to keeping russian tortoises..and wondering what is considered normal..the enclosure is outside here in southern central Florida.... They have a heated hide kept around 74-77*....here are my questions..
They always seem to burrow even in the hide... Outside temps are around 70* now..Is this considered normal?
Every night I go outside and have to dig around the pen to find 1-2 stragglers that have dug in outside the hide..I dig them up and place them in the hide for fear the night time temp drops into the 40* is bad... Should I be concerned and about putting them into the heated hide? Can they handle night temps into the 40* ? How about rain?
Any hep would be appreciated...thank you
