This seems to be true, because the seller's tortoises lived on a mat of plastic grass.... (
I bathe them every day after purchase and changed substrate on coconut chips. But it was useless. One of the tortoise after death plastron painted in red bruises.
Here's how the substrate was made for leopards. And the humidity was high + stood saucer with water.
Here's a photo of the leopard's home. It just poor quality, so in order to be seen substrate I posted another tortoise (little star).
