I've been posting a lot lately so I figure one more won't hurt.
This is a nest made by a female redfoot only a couple hours before this photo was taken...
She nested in the shade of this large elephant pot during the midday which is a bit unusual. What is interesting though is that the indentations made by her two front feet are plainly visible...
You can also see where she back swept the soil and mulch over the nest and the effort no doubt made her front feet dig into the ground even more...
By looking at the above photo deciding where to dig is an easy decision...
