Looks nice. However, I have the same question. Can they get out of the water? Turtles spend more time sunning then they do in the water.

Yes they can get out and bask on the rocks.They have a land area too.The fence is under ground two feet .The part behind the pond is for my red footed tortoises.I'm am going to buy a 1200 gal.tank from a friend to give the red ears more room to swim.

I am currently setting up a 300 G pond in Southern Calif. this is my first.

In the enclosure ground cove is deer clover.You can get it from Gander Mountain or Academy but let it grow and cut it a few times befor letting your turtles eat or nest in it. In the water is hyacinth you can get it from a fish store or a local pond my sliders eat it like crazy.
