Hello everyone,
Finally got some pictures of Eddie. Had a little scare with him when I first got him but he is fine now :)

He is 61mm long along the bottom of his shell (I guess this is where you measure?) and he weighs 67G :)

Tell me what you think :)

He seemed to have a few breathing problems, jutting on his head a lot, but I phoned the guy who sold him to me and he said it's similar to panting; the ligaments on their front legs pull forwards to help them take in air :)

Anybody know if he's a healthy weight and size? He was born in July 2010 :)

I can't comment on the weight but a more accurate way to measure the length is called the straight carapace length or SCL. It is the "standard" way to measure tortoises and turtles. The easiest way to do so is to place the rear most part of your tortoise's shell against a solid surface horizontally. Then place a ruler or tape measure against that same surface either next to or above your tortoise. Viewing straight down at the tortoise and the ruler, take the measurement at the point where the front edge of the tortoises top shell (the carapace) ends. This is the straight carapace length.
