Hello everybody. I'm new to the forum.

I recently purchased an eight week old Russian horsefeild.
My mother and I both got one from the same set and whilst my mothers tortoise is living life and exploring, eating drinking and defficating mine is just spending her time buried.

She's in a 40inch long table with a uvb lamp and a heat lamp. Plenty of hides and thing to climb over and she always has water too.

I'd love some advice.
Thankyou in advance

Could we get some pictures of her enclosure? Also, what are you feeding her?

It is common for tortoises to spend their first few days in a new enclosure hiding and not eating a lot.
With babies it's important that they are kept hydrates, even when they don't drink by themselves.

Thankyou for the reply.
I've hopefully attached a photo with her open enclosure. There is a lid but I took it off so you could see better.
I've tried her on dandelions, clover, cucumber, lettuce and I'm now trying some other bits tonight.
She's bathed one or twice a day and always has water available.
I'm worrying like a new mother.

What are the temperatures at the warm side, basking spot and cool side?
How do you keep it warm at night?

The food you are feeding seems to be okay (Though Russians shouldn't eat vegetables or fruit on a regular basis or too often)
Clovers and dandelions are good and can be part of a varied diet. For some other things to feed i would recommend checking out the tortoise plant database: http://www.thetortoisetable.org.uk/plant-database/viewplants/a-z/#.WVrDlYTyiUk
