You are going to get So many oohs and aaahs for those split scutes!!! What a cutie. I wish I knew more about them, but it looks like a greek to me. Someone will confirm.
Thanks everyone. I didn't know why his/her shell was weird compared to the brother/sister but I think it's cute! Really need to work out the sex so I can give them proper names! Will post photos of the other one tomorrow. It was having a nap when we were doing the photo shoot x
Looks Greek to me as well.
To be certain, check for these little guys on the back of your tortoise's legs/behind.
(It's a little tricky to see on my hatchling's photo since he's quite small lol)
Those little scale like things are Spurs & are also what makes Greeks have the alternative name of "Spur Thighed" Tortoise
We have one way of determaning this, can you please send a picture of the back with tails and everything? thanks! This would really help!
He looks greek to me but i just want to make sure ^_^v
More pics of one of my little "guys" x
I think it's got the spur thighed bits. Any ideas if it's a boy or girl? x
Some pics of my other tort with normal scutes x
Definitely a greek! Looking at the first picture of the second batch, you can see the spurts near his tail area. And for the sex, they both look too young to sex at the moment but if im to make a crazy wild guess, both female but that is just how they look like at that age. hence the reason why i call it crazy wild guess ^_^
Woohoo! I'm glad I finally know what they are haha! Thanks for your help! I thought two females too but I guess it could change. I think I'll call them Scooter and Squirtle I'm sure you'll be seeing lots more of me on this forum now! x
