These - Malaclemys terrapin macrospilota - are highly protected in their home state of Florida. As a result there are not many being produced in captivity.
Quite rare and costly as a matter of fact!
I happened to acquire a gravid female that made these babies [ on loan so to speak ] in a small group.. and even tho' she is no longer with me I have hopes in another female that is thriving fine and should lay for us next season.
