How old?

Iam a new tortoise owner in the uk. We adopted a hermann tortoise with we know is male but not sure in the age?

I don't know how old but he is beautiful. What a smooth shell for an adult. He must have been well loved. Good for you to have him now.

There's no way to tell the age of a tortoise unless you know the hatch date. Your tortoise looks full grown. I thought that in the UK one must have papers on tortoises - papers that tell the age, owner, etc.

He was given to us by my husbands boss who found him about 20 years ago. He is very tame and follows me about after only 3 weeks of living with us.
