Thanks so much !!Usually if urates are gritty rather than creamy, it means he is dehydrated. With the daily soaks, water in his enclosure, and high humidity, it should get better.
Don't know about the undigested food part, but many tortoises poop in the soak. So you're thinking the tortoise poops out the food before it's been digested simply because he's in the soak? One more thing to asl do they clear there intestines while getting soaked.Because i was observing it while soaking there poop was with undigested food.without in water poop is normal as it should be.So did check for worm load but there was nothing in it.

You have got to be joking! [emoji33] Who was talking about eating tortoises??!!They are high in protein, vitamins and some healthy fats. There are no benefits specifically eating tortoises. For reasons of conservation I do not recommend eating them too regularly as their habitat is diminishing around the world. You can get the same health benefits from a more sustainable plant based diet. Having said that, if you are lost in the wilderness and your body’s reserve of fat has been used up, the health benefits of eating turtles and/or tortoises are significant. Eating a tortoise could save your life. Keep in mind that if a tortoise has been living in a contaminated environment it may actually do you more harm than good as it may contain high levels of heavy metals and traces of carcinogenic pesticides.
