Hi! from CA

Hi Guys. Just moved into a house with a good sized backyard and hoping to turn it into a nice home for a tortoise. Did some lurking here and went out to Lowe's and bought some landscaping timbers to build a nice enclosure. Started this account since I knew I would be on here more often for your expertise and advice into the future. Thanks Guys!

Thanks guys! My uncle's neighbor might have a tortoise he is looking to re-home. Not sure of the species, my uncle is older and not great with specifics.

I'm guessing its a tetsudo or a juvenile sulcata he mentioned it was softball size

Personally in Maryland I'll only get 6 months of use and still need a "warm house", but great ideas for sure. They also have great indoor enclosure ideas however, you'll get great use of the area in an outdoor setting. Also like this site for ideas: http://startortoises.net/housingouts.html

Thanks Rosemary! I'll check that out daniellenc, I plan to hopefully work on the enclosure this weekend, but a heat wave is coming through high 90s degrees. Might wait until it cools off a bit!

Ooohhh… Very good tortoise weather there. Not too hot in summer, not too cold in winter. Warm and sunny most of the year.
