Earlier this week while I was cutting the grass I saw a bird coming from my left flying close to the ground. I then looked to my right to see where it went. But no bird in site it had landed right next to my foot. It was a young dove. So I picked it up and put it nearby in the desert tortoises enclosure and went inside and got some bird seed and sprinkled it around just in case. Yesterday I saw this KIMG2328.JPGwhich made me feel good.

I love how protective the parents are and how the babies follow them around. And mimic every move of their parent. I've only seen that once about 30 years ago but it's unforgettable. I've seen the parents in protection mode several times though. That's just as special yet really funny.
