What could this be?

My tort has been doing just fine, but for the past week i have noticed that near the back of her shell, around the rings there is little white lines going around the main rinds and they are getting bigger each day what is this?

when i say rings i mean the parts where they get pyramiding, i just forget what they are called.

That is just how the new growth appears. Eventually it will color up.

if you touch it, is it sensitive? it like our fingernail cuticles..

they do have nerves in their shell, but I've never seen signs that the new growth is sensitive when I've touched them there.

Scutes is what they are called and the white is new growth...He's doing fine!
