Watch an egg being laid

She started to dig her nest.. and maybe 2/3 of the way thru it started a summer rain shower. It didn't last long but when it finally stopped she was still in the same spot.. only had a muddy nest site. I helped her by scooping out the 'mud'.. and she finished digging!

See her here in the typical "nesting trance"..

Now look quick as I caught her laying an egg.. [ the overcast sky distorted the colors ]..

My Russian tortoise just laid two eggs last night! But it was so different, my girl's took a lot longer for each egg to come out, they came out so much more slowly!
