Hi, some advice please.
I posted recently about our little Horsefield, as he’s had a poorly eye and not eating. After realising that a change to his lighting may be the cause of the problem, we’ve now reverted to the lighting that he was familiar with, hoping this may solve the problem but sadly we’ve seen no sign of improvement and he is now losing weight. H3 was small when we got him at 1 year old and now we’ve had him over a year ourselves, he’s only 60g.
I have a vet appointment for him tomorrow but m6 question is regarding Vit A injection, I’m sure I’ve seen people advising against this but can’t recall where I saw this advice. Can anyone advise if this is not advisable and why?

The injection is usually a combined vitamin a, d, e. Too much vitamin A causes the tortoise's skin to slough off, leaving red, raw flesh. It's easier to get vitamin A into a tortoise through food than to try to keep raw flesh from becoming infected. So, NO vitamin A injection.
