Type of tortoise

Hi there . Can anyone advise what type of tortoise this is? He/she was found in a neighbours garden and it looks like we have now inherited a new tortoise. Trying to set up an enclosure etc.. now but not any available equipment where we are staying (Qatar in the Middle East) thx for any advice

Looks greek to me. Testudo graeca. There are several subspecies.

You’ve got a Testudo graeca terrestris there. One from a unique area that is really in need of more research. Make sure you read my care guide at the top of this Greek tortoise forum thoroughly as it touches on this exact type and its specific needs which are notably different from more commonly encountered Testudo species.
