Today on my way home from purchasing a few koi fish, I stopped at a nursery called Martin Viette. The prices there were high but there plants were divine. As I was observing the statues I came across some tortoise statues that were absolutely stunning. Personally I would rather spend the 259.00 or 369.00 on a live tortoise but either way these statues would fit great in anyone tortoise yard.

I'll say...you can find very similar items at stores like Lowe's and ....darn the other one escapes me. All I can think of is Office Depot and I know that's not right. You know the one I mean...has a big orange facade on the store?

eBay too has much better prices. Here is a statue I found on eBay for 18.95 although I'm not sure what type of rock the ones I saw were made from ImageUploadedByTortoise Forum1399135945.557885.jpg

The price is not right. Even it is very cute.

How much?! I have so much 'tortoise tat' in my garden. Figurines, statues, door stops, wind chimes. Any pound shop where I live usually has some monstrosity that if I don't buy, someone else buys it for me. It's become more of a game of, the uglier it is the more you have to buy it!
My mum bought me this for my car last week - $_57.JPG

it nods its head and everything. Ha. it's so horrible it's cute.

I am not suggesting the ones you posted are ugly the the way!

The price was outrageous but I am unsure of the stone the statues were made of and I have a good feeling they were made of granite. But at the same time it looks like cement rock which would make it even more outrageous!
