these nails need cutting?

I think maybe Crystal's nails need to be cut (see pics of front and back). I have some terracotta and rocks he can walk around on that should wear them down, but probably not enough of it until we get a larger enclosure (after the winter). Meantime, they have gotten longer since we got him about 10 months ago. Opinions?

If so, how long is the quick? Or should I just try filing them?

No. Russians and leopards have longer than usual nails. He looks fine.

Yep. I've seen posts that the nails were much more frightening.

Russians have longer nails for digging and burrowing. They look okay to me
