While that's true, I think humid implies heat. Moisture could be mistaken for wet and cold, but for something to be humid, doesn't it need heat? Ambient air humidity?
Nope. Humidis just the amount of moisture in the 'air'. It can be cool and humid too. Miserable. I know, I'm from Ohio.

What about the desert climate (UGH!) here which is so dry? What am I to do in this case?
It's mostly just babies under a year or two that benefit from this method. You're just gonna have to keep babies in closed chambers inside (or on a porch with temp controller).
