Hello! I was thinking about adding some Spanish moss (tillandsia) to our greenhouse that our tort will winter in. I do not plan on using it as bedding, as I have heard it can be harmful, but I would like to hang some live to add biomass to the greenhouse. I know air plants (close relative) are not harmful to eat, but will a leaf falling on the ground every now and then be a cause for concern?

It should be fine, it's just a funny-looking bromeliad. The impaction risk that you hear about comes from peat mosses like spaghnum. Other hanging plants that are safe in moderation are burro's tail and some ferns.

Use chicken wire to make little baskets for structure for it to hold on to and cascade down from. Then you could stick in some adorable little air plants. I have a whole bag of spanich moss I am saving for this kind of project
