Small white dots on shell

I've only had my Hermans tortoise for about a month and a half and I've noticed little circular white dots on his shell. They aren't filled in though. Just circles and then shell inside. I'm not sure if this is normal or not but any help would be great

Do a search for "squiggly lines" and see if that's what you're seeing on your tortoise.
