Hello I am new and I have been finding conflicting care online in regards to my Leopard and Sulcata Torts. My leopard is very sick his eyes will not open and he wont eat and his shell is gradually getting softer. I am wondering if the reptocal powder that is used on their food can be put in their water? I am afraid that is the only way he will perk up enough to eat but was afraid to put it in there until I asked. It LOVES Squash I just bought some and am going to try feeding him just the squash instead of the mixture I usually feed them when I get home. I went to the pet shop here and they deal with turtles not tortoises, I need help :( I just put in a UVB light yesterday and purchased the powder for thier food after reading some posts of people with their tort acting similar to mine.

People will respond to this thread. You should not mix species. It is not good for either tortoise. Each tort carries it's own pathogens that could conceivably make the other animal sick. If your leopard is getting soft I would suggest that you feed a good diet sprinkled with TNT and put her in the sun. There's nothing better than the sun. Soak her in a mixture of babyfood (carrots) and warm water everyday. Have you taken her to the Vet? You need to do that if she's already getting soft and not eating, she is very sick and possibly going to die. I don't mean to scare you but she is very sick and needs a Vet.

I bought two because I didnt want one to be lonely.. if that is possible. What does a "Good diet" consist of for a leopard and what is TNT? I started taking them outside yesterday after reading on this site that they needed natural sunlight. Its hard because everything online is so conflicting! I am so glad I found this site!!! The closest vet is 4 hrs from me. Does it have to be carrots? My leo really likes squash. Do you do a half baby food half warm water mixture? I know it might die :( That is why I came here hoping for help. I will try the baby food thing when I get home I know if it gets some calcium or vitamins it would probably eat but I just cant get it any with just plain water. My leo has been like this since the day I got it, it just gradually keeps getting worse :(

Maggie's advice for your baby is one of the best that you'll get here on this forum. Listen to what she tells you as she has saved many babies from death. Hopefully she comes back and tells you what TNT is since I don't have the answer to that one. If she doesn't respond pm her and she'll help you. Good luck and keep us updated on his progress. You're in good hands here on TFO. :)

Try Separating Them, and Giving Them Warm Soaks!
Give Them a Little Bit Of Natural Sun, and Separate Their Food!

by soaking them in baby food and Vitamins. I use carrots because of the amount of Vit A it has. I soak for about an hour using a warming light.

This is an old post, I hope it helps.
