Reptitherm Under Tank Heaters I am not finding them to be very reliable as I have had two bad experiences with them this year. I am sending back a model RH-6 that is only 2 months old as it just stopped working - I don't have the box or receipt so just sending it to let them know it failed more then for replacement. Earlier in the year I had a smaller unit unstick from the underside of the tank and lost a 5 year old Geekco behind that but granted partially my fault for not having a heat sensor device.

Thanks so much for the forum members that post the educational information on vital importance of monitoring the heat levels with a sensor which probably saved my turtle.

Has anyone else experienced issues with UTH or it just could be I got two bad ones in the same year -- they are very expensive todays replacement was over $35 and if prone to issues I may switch over to cermanic heat emitters I just perfer the UTH style.
