Reposting something I found today.
Why does everyone want $200 for their unwanted tortoises??? Every CL add, $150-$200 (except the guy in Portland, OR that wants $2200 for his Sulcata).
I'm more than happy to adopt more tortoises. I have room, and no husband to complain...lol
I love them, constantly study them to make sure they get what each individual prefers, my reptile friends are helping me with lights, fixtures, etc. plus a team of veterinarians eager to help.
But I am not buying them. Ugh.
I breed show Basenjis. Litter every 2-5 years that is well planned. Puppies are $1000.
If I have an adult to place, its free. Just need to prove you are perfect home. Sorry, but I do not believe animals should be resold. I probably spent $5k on showing, health testing, etc. that's my problem, not adopters problem. They all need a home, love and care. My "payment" is knowing a creature I love is going to a better place. So worth it. [SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES]
