Just wondering if pyramiding stunts growth? I have had my tort, Rocky for 1 year...he is 3. He had a lot of pyramiding when I got him. He weighs 12lbs.

I think It depends on how bad it is and if its associated with MBD...

No it does not. They can grow just fine with pyramiding and they can be stunted with or without pyramiding.

12 pounds for a three year old is not stunted at all. That is actually on the big side of growth. I've seen lots of 3-4 year olds that we're only around 4 pounds.

I tried to attach a file/pic to this thread but I keep getting an error message? I posted a pic of Rocky in the personal album section:)

thats a good size and pretty decent pyrmiding as well. Possibly a bit of MBD due to the slope to the hind end..
but he looks 'good' and if that yard is where he lives now and get good food, graze, excersise and sun. you will notice that when he grows the space between the bumps will get bigger and he will smooth out a bit, but will always have affects from it..
