A woman called me quite a while ago to place her sulcata. Since she was closer to the east side of the U.S. I put her in touch with Kim, who rescues for Turtle Homes. Kim has been trying to negotiate with this woman for a couple months, even had a prospective adoptor willing to drive 3 hrs to pick up the tortoise. Here are some pictures that the woman finally sent to Kim. And, she still hasn't given up the tortoise. I hope you can open the site, its really quite educational.

When you get the picture of the "thumb," just sit there a few seconds and wait. It opens ok for me.

Well, I wonder why. It opens for me.

Well, sorry about that. It shows a young, highly pyramided sulcata with a rope tied around its middle and tethered. Its actually a slide show and it looks like the person who posted the pictures is very proud of what they've done for the tortoise.
