Well, Ray, you have had Opo for some time , (years) and he has been thriving. The chance that he picked something up I believe is possible but not probable. My Sulcata, PeeWee has a routine, but that being said, he does vary that routine occasionally, so I'm hoping that this is just a variation of his normal routine...🤞

Opo seemed to act better today. What has really worried me is his weight. In May last year he weighed around 88lbs. Then in June he lost about 4lbs. So from June till last week he only gained about 6lbs. When the massive gallstone was a issue last June. I had a x-ray done and the vet said there might be a stone in his bladder. So it will give me a peace of mind to have another x-ray. IMG_20230729_181355.jpg
This was what the vet was looking at.

Hi all, I took some of this aloe and scraped the aloe off the skin. I mixed it with some mazuri and Opo ate it just fine. The skin seems to tough to me for Opo to eat. Any other ideas of ways to feed to Opo?
Thanks Ray

Opo is the handsomest tortoise ever, as I think I've said more than once before. You must be very proud of him. i do hope his health and weight problems are improving.

Thanks Angie, after Opo passing that huge gallbladder stone. I adjusted his diet to virtually no store bought greens. Planted some plots of pasture grass. Before everytime he scratched on the door. I was bringing him some turnip or mustard greens. Also kale, bok choy or okra. I have cut back on all of that. Now when Opo wakes up. He goes straight outside to graze. He hardly scratches on the door because I don't bring him food like I did before. So he isn't gaining weight like he did before. Still gaining weight but not as fast. His treats now are mazuri or cactus. Instead of being fed to him daily.
