I noticed that a local chain (Hy-Vee) is offering what they call the NuVal rating system on foods, ranking foods from 1-100 based on a secret formula with the idea being that higher the number, the healthier the choice.

I got to thinking how handy it would be to have a wallet card with common store-bought foods and a rating of some sort on it- maybe two numbers, one for the more herbivorous species, and another for the more omnivorous. Maybe like the various 'number matching diets' where the meal total should be in some pre-determined range.

If anyone has any thoughts on the mechanics or formula for something like this, I would love to work on it!
