The insulated house isn't finished yet, so I still bring Lois indoors at night, but this is her new outdoor enclosure. It will be finished by next week I hope. She really likes the barrel hide. We left the bottom in it so she can't burrow under.

I'm sorry to ask, but why don't you want her to burrow? It's completely natural and gives your tort something to do and make her yard, well, hers.

I don't want her burrowing because I'm concerned she'd get out of the pen. The rest of my yard is not fenced in and I'm surrounded by fields on 3 sides and a highway on 1. I just don't want to chance her digging out of the pen.
Yes it does feel great to leave her out most of the time now!!
