Hello,
I just joined the forum today so I can do more research in hopes of one day adopting a tortoise. I'm considering adopting a Russian or Hermann's tortoise at some point down the line. I live in Minnesota and have a yard for an outdoor enclosure and space in the house for an indoor enclosure for the colder months. I've never kept a tortoise, but I do keep a uromastyx and three snakes.
One question I had is: Why are sulcata tortoises so cheap compared to Hermann's tortoises? I thought both were commonly bred in captivity. (I am looking to adopt one rather than buying a baby; I was just curious about the price difference I saw.)
Thank you.
