As some of you know, I work at PetSmart. We get many calls and people coming in asking if we could take their unwanted pets off their hands. Unfortunately, due to company policy, we cannot take animals from outside sources so I usually have to direct the customers to family owned pet stores.
However, when a frequent customer came in desperately asking if I knew of anyone who could take in his Sulcata, I knew I could help out.
When he purchased the tortoise as a hatching, he must've forgot to tell his parents how big this tortoise was going to get. Hence the reason for a quick re-homing.
So, meet Eva!
She does have some pyramiding going on. When I asked what her diet consisted of, he told me that he was giving her kale, dusted with calcium. That however has changed to a more grass/hay diet.
Grass is so yummy!
