looks like an abscess on the neck only when he breaths

Ned has been staying outside all year and today he flipped and after i picked him up i noticed that on one side of his neck when he would breathed it looked bigger (only slightly it was not that big of a difference ) and he acted normal. should i be worried? i will try to post pictures

I wouldn't worry about the neck thing. And hopefully the non-urates isn't a problem either. But to be sure, give him a good soak and leave him in the water for 15 minutes or so. Mine don't pass urates every time, only occasionally.

ok thank you. i hope he does not have any issues i see him pass urates only once every couple of months but he always drinks water and my friend told me not to worry.

Post a picture if you can and keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't get any bigger, but it doesn't sound like anything to worry about.

When my tortoises breathe heavy you can see it in their neck area huffing and puffing. that would be my guess.
