This morning I got up bracing myself for a tough work day.
When I went out to pick up the paper, I saw a turtle-shaped lump in the road, 2 houses down from mine. I walked down and, sure enough, a box turtle! He was clearly uninjured, so I picked him up and took him across to the side of the road he was aiming for. That felt good.
As I walked back home I knew that no matter WHAT happened, the rest of the day could NOT be fully ruined because I'd started off with that one beautiful little bright spot. Turtles rock!
