So my 2mo sulcata (I don't have a name yet, its so hard to decide) finally started semi-grazing.
This might not sound like a big deal but for me it is. I live in an apartment where I feed him spring mix with optunia. I bring him outside for UV. I live in Texas so its still warm. Well when outside he would only eat dried dog poop but today finally ate some Dichondra and bermuda grass. I brought in some this morning and put some next to his food. He loves it. So glad he is semi-grazing.

I wouldn't let your sulcata keep eating dog food, I have read many things that say its not good for them because they can get parasites from eating the dog feces along with other diseases. Just something to keep in mind or read up more about so nothing bad happens

Personally, I would be more worried that the dogs who made those deposits are on an Ivermectin type product, which may kill a tortoise.

Glad he is expanding his dietary range. :D

haha, I never let him keep eating it. He would walk up to it and take a bite before I could grab him, but he kept going back so I had to move him to a different location. After I moved him, he wouldn't eat any grass, now he finally did today.
