Hi everyone..I'm not a tortoise owner yet I'll hopefully be getting a juvenile russian next month I'm spending this month building a table for him I have experience with all sorts of pets from furry to scaly but this will be my first tortoise and hopefully my last lol

Hello and welcome. Only get one. Pairs almost never work out with Russians. They can be pretty aggressive with each other sometimes. They often do well in large outdoor pens with one male and several females, but a pair, indoors, will likely lead to problems.

Welcome to the forums. Russians are a fun tortoise to have. They like large enclosures and if you are keeping it inside try and get it as much outside time as you can.
