Nothing wrong with starting a new thread for these types of inquiries. We all can learn something from them.

Probably too small to tell - but I would guess female at this point. :)

It seems that he lacks inguinal scutes?? And also the quite continuous black markings on the plastron... intermediar between THH and THB... could it be a Herzegovinensis?

It's difficult to tell from the posted photo if the tortoise has inguinal scutes. Especially since those on a tortoise that small may not be as apparent and closer in the bridge. But the plastral scute configuration identifies it as an Eastern.
If the OP would like to post some more photos showing the bridge area between the carapace and plastron in front of the rear legs an ID could be more conclusive.

It's still difficult to tell from the photos posted. I believe inguinal scutes can be seen in your photos of your tortoise but they (the photos) are a bit blurry. If you refer to Chris Leone's Hermann's identification at the top of the Hermann's forum you can see what is meant by inguinal scutes.

I would say female eastern based on those pictures - a better quality picture would help since the two close-up pictures were out of focus.
