I have a sulcata that roams freely in my home. All of my floors are hard wood..or tile in the bathroom and kitchen. I noticed sometime last week when u picked up my tort that he had smooth spots on his back feet..I'm assuming it's from when he walks on the floor bc he somewhat slides. I pressed on them and he didn't move or bring his legs in to show pain. Today I came back from North Carolina and noticed when I put him in the tub for his soaks that the spots are now pinkish...which I'm thinking would be painful.. But again I pressed on them and nothing.. Is anyone able to help me with this issue.? Ways to resolve it?

This is just another reason why tortoises belong in their own habitat with substrate to dig into and get traction from, a hiding place, a waterer, feeder and a light to bask under.

It doesn't do a tortoise any favors allowing him to roam free in the house. If he can't be outside, where he belongs, then he needs to be in a habitat built especially for him and his needs.
