Here's a shot of a rescued male gulf coast box turtle that's up for adoption. He's all stretched out, taking the sun!!

At first I was scared that he was dead because his head is laying on the ground and his back legs are all stretched back...but he's just relaxed!

I have to admit Yvonne I was wondering the same thing, but knew you wouldn't put a picture up if he wasn't alive. Anyway I know nothing about Box Turtles. I thought when they were turtles that they lived in water? He looks like he's in a rather dry spot.

I found Tallula like that in her food bowl after she finished eating hahaha, it's funny now, but I did think she had passed away. I just poke her leg and she turns to me like "mommy, stop POKING me!" haha What a cute turtle though.

Well, box turtles do like to sit in water, however they are a land turtle.

box turtles do stick close to water and do love to so., like Yvonne said. They do though spend a lot of time on land.

PS: he looks very comfy, and he looks like a big boy

I actually have 4 of them, all boys, and have just recently found a good home for 3 of them!
