Green on tortoise shell

Hi All,

I entered the world of tortoise owning a month ago by purchasing a 9 month old Hermanns tortoise.

I've noticed that he has a little speck of green on his shell - just wondered if this was anything to worry about and what it means.

Have added a photo to this email.

any advice much appreciated!

Looks like the former owner used a little nail polish for ID purposes. It won't hurt a thing and it will fade in time. No need to do anything.
