How about here in Denver? we are farther from the actual fires but it just started to get a bit "foggy" with the smoke and I can definitely smell it in the air. Should I be worried too? or can I keep them outside in their pen like they have been living? I don't have their indoor stuff turned on at the moment, plus I am at work anyway so I can't bring them in right now.

Usually it will look overcast but red and dark dirty looking. I usually leave them out till I start seeing ash falling, then I would bring them I till it clears up a little, it's not the best air quality when there's a fire near by

Ok cool, I don't see anything falling, just a bit overcast. I'll keep an eye out for ash falling. Sorry to sort of hijack your thread Sue, but you brought up a good point that I had not really thought of.
