Are you aware that you will not be able to buy an Egyptian Tortoise from anyone who is NOT a legal resident of IL (assuming that is your state of legal residence)? This is due to the Egyptian Tortoise being added to the US Endangered Species Act list back in May of this year. To buy from a resident of a different state, both buyer and seller must possess Captive Bred Wildlife Permits (CBW's) from the USFWS.

To the best of my knowledge, there has not been enough time for anyone to get the species added to their existing CBW Permit much less to successfully apply for a totally new CBW Permit for the species (which was taking about 2 years with Radiated Tortoises, and most applicants were denied in the end anyway).
