I have been finding a fair amount of Cicadas this year. It's an off year for them. They generally emerge every 17 years around here, in biblical proportions (by the billions) In 1982, I remember the streets covered with their carcasses, trees covered with their empty skins, and the sky filled with buzzing, flying cicadas. The noise for several weeks was deafening, like loud white noise. Wish I could find more, box turtles love 'em.

We only had a small amount here, I hear them sometimes but mainly we just find the left over skin. I have seen them very bad before with dead ones everywhere...

Thanks for posting that Len. The only ones I have seen was in Washington a couple years back and they were all dead. everywhere!! They actually look to be quite colorful.
