I've heard that to much calcium can cause pyramiding, how often should I put calcium dust on my torts food? Don't have the tort yet but it will be a baby if that helps at all.

Hmmm? too much calcium causes pyramiding? Really? I'm no expert but I thought that if they eat too much calcium, they use what they need and expel/poop what they do not. Maybe an expert can help us further with this.

My babies, leopards, oldest is 7 months, get cuttlebone every day. I scrape a knife along the cuttle bone, over the greens which I spray down with a spray bottle (little travel size one I keep handy), and it dusts perfectly on their food. I have them in a closed chamber, hot and humid, like a terrarium, ambient temp 85-88 degrees, 80-90% humidity and they are smooth. No lumpy tortoises for me. They are like little bowling balls smooth. Yay! : )
