Black Seeded Simpson for Russian?

Hi Everyone!
I started my organic garden about a year ago, here in SoCal. So far its coming along quite nicely! ANYWAY, I've been growing Black Seeded Simpson loose leaf lettuce by the bucket load... aside that it tastes great in salads and sammiches, I was wondering if it is safe (after being washed, duh!) for my Russian?

I'm curious because I know nothing NOTHING about lettuce in reference to Tortoises other than the fact that Iceberg has mostly water/no nutritional value.
