box turtle babies 9-14-15.jpg

The three biggest ones (with spots all over their carapaces) are luteola, the two smallest are 3 toe and the others are gulf coast. I keep finding 3 toe babies in the turtle yard. I've never had them hatch before, but this past spring I had the pepper tree that was shading their yard, cut down, so now the earth warms up enough to hatch the eggs. Misty has been very good at finding the babies for me. If they're moving under the leaf litter, she points.

That's so interesting. ( & yes - cute )
It would be fun to have boxy babies :)
Had no interest in box turtles till I was asked to foster a couple and now I find them fun.
