Avatar size

How on earth did everyone get their avatar file size so small?!

I can scale down any image to the right dimensions (100 x 100 px), but I can't get it below 26 kb, and the max size allowable is 10 kb!

Is there a way around this?

I have just used photobucket to resize it under the 100x100 and thats all it took to add it as my avatar. Haven't had the kb issue yet..

Nah, I tried it several times and it doesn't work. Like I said, make it a certain dimensions (100 x 100 px) isn't a problem. But Im in photoshop, and Im parring the image down to the lowest resolution setting...and its still 26+ kb. I even made one that was 50 x 50 px and it was still 26 kb.

The User CP will not accept it.

Well, I guess I just can't upload it straight from my desktop. Had to put it in photobucket, then just paste the URL. That apparently worked!
