My baby sulcata is looking strange to me. I mean it's like he's getting lazy or something. When I would set him down he would stand or lie down and stretch his back legs out. Now his front legs stay up but it's like his back legs aren't strong enough to lift his shell. When he walked he had no problem but should I be worried.??? I have put pics below. Also does he look healthy??? Just want to know

Does he lift himself off the ground when moving? My T often sits on his belly propped on his front paws when looking around. Though when he walks he stands tall off the ground. Also if on soft surfaces like a bed in the photo they do crawl lower. Watch him go for something he likes (a treat?) when on a carpet or hard soil, something with grip but solid (ergo not tiles or they walk like a cat on roller skates fro Tom n Jerry). Seems ok to me in the piks though.

Looks good?? Oh thank you. I thought I was feeding him too much or maybe not enough calcium.

Yeah if he feels like he needs to go somewhere be walks fine he just seems to be getting lazy lol. But thanks :). I feel better now

Could you put him on the floor or hard surface and take profile pictures? He seems to look fine.

Maybe so but you can't see anything wrong in the photos :) see if you can persuade him to lift up when walking. If he can but doesn't all the time Id say he's fine just a bit lazy like all animals.

Is 85 the ambient enclosure temperature or the basking spot? His basking spot should be 100-110 at all times during the day with 85 or so ambient temperatures. Do you have any sort of uvb lighting?

Oh then I need a stronger heat bulb. The 85 is the basking. And yes I have a UVB bulb but its right at its 6 month mark an I need to get another one. What wattage shud I get to have the basking at 100-110???

my basking temp is 100+ from a 100watt regular incandescent light bulb at 16" above the basking rock...just to give you an idea.
